For 10 years, our community has seen the impact that music therapy can have. We have also seen people unable to continue services because of financial hardship or a gap in grant funding. The Music Therapy Access Fund helps ensure that financial barriers don't prevent our most vulnerable community members from receiving music therapy.

Whether helping a family facing unexpected financial hardship or sustaining a community program while grant funding is pending, every donation helps expand access to music therapy right here in Hancock County, Maine.

Why is this Fund needed?

Music therapy is an evidence-based healthcare profession that helps people of all ages improve their lives through music. While its benefits are well established, these services are rarely covered by insurance in Maine, leaving individuals and families in our community paying out of pocket.

 

The Music Therapy Access Fund helps bridge that gap by providing financial support where it is needed most.

 

How your gift helps

Donations to the Fund will fund direct services.

• Lower the out of pocket cost of music therapy and adaptive music lessons for families experiencing financial hardship.

• Help sustain community music therapy programs between grant cycles.

• Pilot new music therapy programs and workshops, in partnership with local non-profit organizations.

• Expand access to music therapy for underserved members of our community.

The Fund

The Music Therapy Access Fund is administered by Ellsworth Community Music Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, in support of the charitable programs of Modulations Therapies. Families and partner organizations can apply for need-based assistance, and requests are reviewed to ensure funds will have the greatest impact. All donations directly support access to music therapy for members of our community.
